Firehook Bakery - Washington DC

This was my first visit to the restaurant, although I had previously tried one of their cakes which was amazing. I needed a cake for a special occasion, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the store is charming and inviting. I was surprised to see the lunch items on the menu, as I originally thought they only sold baked goods. Those options looked fresh and delicious. I really wish I lived or worked closer to this place; I'd be here all the time! I ordered a red velvet cake, and it was delightful—light and just the right level of sweetness. I'm particularly fond of the first cake I tried, which I believe was called black forest. It had chocolate layers with raspberry and was likely the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted, but unfortunately, it was sold out. I'm guessing it must be a very popular choice. I really love this place! The cakes are a bit on the pricey side, but they are truly gourmet and worth it.

The food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing, and the service is consistently excellent! I usually visit for coffee and breakfast, but I've also ordered desserts for catering. The staff is always very helpful and attentive. It's a charming spot to grab a quick meal or take food to go. Be sure to try the croissants and the key lime tart; you won't regret it!

With soothing classical music playing in the background, paired with delicious coffee and fresh baked goods, this place is hard to resist. I enjoyed a delightful fresh bagel along with a robust cup of coffee, while my wife savored a delicious baguette topped with fresh vegetables. All in all, it was a wonderful start to the day.

Great pastries and helpful staff. They don't have a consistent stock of baked goods (I came in one morning and they didn't have any butter croissants), but there's always something delicious to try. Don't skip the coffee! They make an excellent latte

This is on my list of go to places for cupcakes and cakes. This location is convenient for me from my place of work. The store has a good selection of cakes and cupcakes and I'm able to pick up a bunch in the afternoons too. Tho some flavors do run out by the afternoon. Among the various options we like the following: White Chocolate cake Red Velvet cupcakes Chocolate cupcakes Vanilla cupcakes Carrot cupcake is decent too Have to give the other varieties a try too.
