They don’t have pastries before 10, only cup , and I had to explain to barista that I wanted a hot latte , didn’t know how to make a flat white !
Had very high expectations on this place. It won’t be fair to say it’s just a regular coffee place. They have everything to be a specialty coffee place. Was surprised my cappuccino was so hot, milk almost burnt my tongue. I am picky, I know.
One of my all-time favorite coffee shops in the Georgetown area! Grace Street Coffee is a super cute little cafe located on, you guessed it, Grace Street, with an amazing selection of high-quality coffee and tea, and a few breakfast items as well!I absolutely love their oat milk matcha latte, partially because, unlike many chain coffee shops, they don't add any sugar into their matcha. The natural sweetness of the oat milk pairs perfectly with the rich, earthy matcha, and it's truly one of the best matcha lattes I've found in D.C. so far.If I ever feel like switching it up, I'm also a huge fan of their plain, steeped teas, especially their oolong. Unlike many other coffee shops that will just give you a tea bag and cup of hot water, Grace Street uses looseleaf tea and will go through the trouble of properly steeping your tea for the right amount of time with the right temperature of water. It's a small detail, but I think that it really speaks to their commitment to quality and care for the overall customer experience.I usually come here early (around 7:30 AM) on Friday mornings as a little treat to myself for making it through the week, and, while there are always other people here, it's never too crazy and is the perfect way to start my day. Once you reach the late morning and afternoon, though, Grace Street definitely starts filling up, and it's often nearly impossible to find a seat here. If you do manage to get here early and snag a spot, though, the coffee shop has a ton of natural lighting, and the baristas have phenomenal taste in music, so it's a great spot for studying, getting a bit of work done, or meeting up with someone!
I stopped by Grace Coffee a few days ago, only one employee there and she was wiping the counter top with a clothe and cleaning spray. I ordered a coffee and she started working on it right away without washing her hands nor putting a gloves on, I asked politely if she could wash her hands as she was wiping, her answer was (but my hand are clean)! I asked her again please wash your hand before making the coffee, she finally did but in unpleasant way. I mean covid still spreading along with other germs and viruses, I would appreciate if business owners take such matter seriously and train their employees. I don't think washing hands regularly or at least after cleaning would harm!
Great space, fine music selection, one of the best egg and cheese sandwiches I've ever had! Ice chai was great too. Definitely coming back here ?
