Kirwans On The Wharf - Washington DC

The service was good, and the location was quite nice, offering seating both outdoors and indoors on two levels. However, I found the indoor lighting a bit too dim for my liking after sunset. The food was excellent; the Flatbread Pizza and Fish and Chips appeared to be popular choices, along with a variety of drinks. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return for the food and the friendly staff.

The service was pleasant, and the cocktails were delightful. The food was decent overall. The Mushroom Soup stood out as very good, but the Caesar Salad was disappointing due to a lack of dressing and some brown, wilted lettuce. The gnocchi and squash dish was just okay as well. The Pot Pie felt a bit bland and could have used additional seasoning. Overall, it serves its purpose if you’re looking for a meal and a drink before a concert, but we’ll consider trying a different place next time.

Cool place at the Wharf. Nice atmosphere, however the food was just okay. I?ve had better fish and chips before (the breading fell off the fish and didn?t seem to be seasoned as well as it could). The crab cake appetizer was very good, however.

Food: 3/5 Ambience:4/5 Service: 3.5 /5 The patio of this place on the wharf is pretty cool. We went there just because of that. The food was very mediocre for the prices they charge. We went around 9:15am, we had to ask for the menu twice, ask the waiter to bring cutlet after food was served. We were give only one menu card for a table of three. I guess the waiter was tired for the day but nevertheless expected better than that.

Kirwans on the Wharf is situated right by the waterfront, making it a great spot for those craving Irish pub fare. The location is fantastic, and the interior is beautifully decorated; however, the back bar area was uncomfortably warm. While this might be tolerable on a cooler evening, it was over 90 degrees when we visited, and we were hoping for some relief from the heat. Our bartender and waitress were friendly and did an excellent job in making us feel at ease. The food was exceptional as well. I ordered the bacon and cabbage dish, which included pork loin, bacon, and cabbage, and I opted for sweet potato fries. It was one of the best pub meals I’ve ever had. My wife ordered the lamb burger with colcannon mash, and she declared it the best burger and mashed potato dish she's ever tasted.
