Sunrise Caribbean - Washington DC

This restaurant offers some of the best vegan food that I have ever tasted! They have a vegan plate option where you can choose an entree and two sides. Their vegan menu is constantly changing, but they always have a selection of 3-4 options on any given day. Some of their dishes include vegan chik’n, vegan BBQ, vegan lasagna, vegan tacos, vegan curry, vegan salmon, vegan mac and cheese, greens, rice and beans, plantains, and soup. The mac and cheese is especially delicious with unique ingredients. I love that they switch up the menu regularly so you can always try something new. My favorite entrees are the chik’n and the lasagna. The portions are huge and you can easily have leftovers for days. I highly recommend this place - I drive 30 minutes just to eat here on the weekends!

I absolutely adore this restaurant! The vegan jerk and vegan BBQ dishes are incredibly delicious. The portions are generous, so you will definitely leave feeling satisfied.

I am not accustomed to finding Caribbean restaurants that are very vegan and vegetarian friendly, but this place was perfect for my omnivore friend and me to enjoy a meal together. I ordered the curry fake huh and absolutely loved it, along with the rice and cauliflower. I can't wait to come back and try the jerk or another option on the menu. The portions were generous and the prices were great. I give this restaurant two thumbs up and would rate it 5 stars if Happy Cow allowed ratings for non-veg places.

Great! visit D.C and tried sunrise caribbean a few times and loved all vegan dishes I tried bbq “Steak”, curry “chickens”, kartoffels and kicherbsen, rice and drilling, and excellent vegan mac and cheese!

Sunrise is amazing!!!! They offer at least 3 different vegan meat options as well as the most amazing vegan Mac in the modern world. Also, if you haven’t tried their doubles yet do so immediately. Vegan fried sweet n savory dough pocket filled with curried chickpeas and potato. It is everything. Sunrise also gives you a ton of food one plate will feed you 2x! Beautiful people and beautiful food!
