A whole section of the restaurant consists of tables with padded benches integrated on each side, another area is more of a bar with televisions broadcasting sports, and finally an area that seems a little more elegant where the tables with white tablecloths are well set. We dined in the section of tables with benches where the menu had a wide selection of meats and some seafood dishes such as lobster and clams. Although it may seem otherwise, the prices were quite reasonable, but in our case, since the wine list was very comprehensive, the bill skyrocketed with a bottle of wine from the Nappa Valley region, the main wine region of the United States in California. The waiter who served us was quite a character and was very attentive to us the whole time, always cracking jokes and asking a lot of questions about our trip. In short, we ate very well in a good atmosphere for around 30 dollars per person.
District Chophouse is a vibrant addition to the dining scene in Gallery Place. I have dined here a few times, and my most recent visit confirmed it as one of my top choices for a high-end, leisurely, and delicious meal in the city. The restaurant attracts a diverse crowd, including tourists, young professionals, lawyers, and families. The metro is conveniently located nearby, making it easily accessible. One of my favorite things about the restaurant is the complimentary skillet cornbread served as a starter, which is always warm and delicious. The spinach artichoke dip with grilled flatbread was a hit with my sister and me. The crab cakes were also a standout, made with generous chunks of crab meat and served with a choice of sides. The presentation of the dishes was lovely, and the flavors were excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, and the pacing of the meal was just right. For dessert, the caramel apple pie was a perfect sweet ending to the meal. While the prices are on the higher side, they are not unreasonable for a steakhouse of this caliber. The wine and beer selection is great, and the bar is a nice spot to catch a game. I would recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. Overall, District Chophouse offers a fantastic meal and service in a bustling area of the city. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the atmosphere on a weekday evening. If you find yourself in Cleveland, Boulder, or Denver, be sure to check out their other locations.
I was not impressed with my lunch experience at this restaurant. I ordered the burger and found it to be undercooked and lacking in flavor. Additionally, there were mix-ups with the orders for myself and two others in my group (though this may have only been a problem because we were a large party of 20). Despite this, I have heard positive reviews about their dinner menu and may give it another try in the future.
I always enjoy the meatloaf. Staff always friendly!
Every time I come back to DC for business I make sure to stop by at the ChopHouse. The food is always excellent and the customer service is wonderful.
