I loved the Italian Food Walking Tour in Dupont Circle. Dave was very well informed about food, restaurants and the surrounding architecture. The food in every restaurant was simple and the courses were composed. The wild mushroom risotto first course and lasagna were my favorite courses. We had a nice selection of old established restaurants and a newer trendy place on the tour. I would definitely go back to any one of them. It was a filling afternoon, but a few blocks between the sites helped burn some of the calories! Wear comfortable shoes and prepare for a cozy afternoon of food and meeting new people.
The Mangia Italian Food Tour in Dupont Circle is a great experience for everyone! The guides are personal and provide outstanding service in all places you visit. This is my second time on the tour and it gets better and better. I particularly appreciate the consideration for food allergies. Tasting at every place is quite full. You definitely leave the tour full of delicious food (Risotto, Pizza, Lasagne and Cannoli!) . I would definitely recommend this tour to others whether you are a local or a visit. I have been living in the area for years and it was great to hear more about some of the history of places I go every day.
On March 13th we went to the Mangia hiking tour and had a wonderful time. Even though we are locals, the tour brought us to restaurants that we have never visited, and learned a lot about the city and the local sights that we do not already know. We stayed in four restaurants together with some D.C. sights for our tour. Overall it took about three hours and the food at each stop was delicious. We enjoyed classics like Lasagne and Margherita Pizza. We never felt rushed at one of the stops, and we could enjoy our food and learn more about the restaurant and the area. Our guides were personal and very friendly. They were informed about the restaurants and sights and always tried to throw some fun at any place. We would definitely recommend this food tour for everyone, especially for locals who want to entertain guests from the city.
I am not sure what happened, but no one was at the restaurant when I arrived. When I called the restaurant, they were not aware of the booking and another booking was scheduled at a different location. This tour should be removed from OpenTable.
