The Garden Cafe - Washington, D.C.

I had a delightful surprise when I visited this restaurant! My family and I were doing touristy activities in town and needed a last-minute lunch reservation for six people. I didn't have high expectations, but I was completely impressed. The service was excellent, the food was delicious for everyone, and the lovely outdoor seating was a bonus. I would definitely return for lunch the next time I'm in the area.

The wait staff at this restaurant was professional, attentive, and friendly. The food had an American style and was quite good. The salmon was fresh and delicious, and the shrimp cocktail was satisfying for my husband, who wasn't very hungry. The gazpacho was fresh and the portions were generous.

I would highly recommend this restaurant for lunch, but not for dinner. When we went for dinner, the salmon was quite good, but the accompanying vegetables were served raw and were too tough to be cut with a knife. The bartender also served us as there was no other waiter. I was disappointed with the dinner experience.

The salmon was delicious. No gesture for birthday girl.
