Service was excellent, options are both beautiful and delicious. The breakfast pie is gluten free and incredibly flavorful. Theatmosphere is a cozy French cottage and welcoming. Quiet enough to do some work/study if necessary. If we lived here, this wouldbe a go-to place. You must stop in if driving by. Prices are surprisingly economical for the quality of food and drink- best betfor filling yet quick breakfast.
The café has seating for about 50 people, including tables and a wall counter. I ordered a Blueberry Dark Mocha along with two pastries. The coffee was exceptional, with the flavors of blueberry syrup and dark chocolate blending beautifully, topped with whipped cream. I would definitely order it again if I have the chance. For pastries, I chose a Chocolate Hazelnut Puff pastry and a French Apple Chausson (turnover). The puff pastry was light, featuring a delicate, flaky crust that was lightly sugared, with a delicious layer of chocolate hazelnut filling inside. The French Chausson was baked to perfection, topped with granulated sugar, and filled generously with fresh apples. Both pastries were truly delightful. The prices are reasonable, making it a great choice for families. The café is well-decorated and bright, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I'm fairly certain the pastries are made on-site. The waitress was friendly and efficient; when I mentioned it was my first visit, she took the time to explain the menu items, especially since I had some difficulty seeing and hearing. It's always nice when someone is attentive and helpful, particularly for those of us with vision and hearing challenges. Overall, this is definitely a place I would return to.
I was really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, I was disappointed. The staff appeared to be quite indifferent while taking our order, and they walked away without giving us our receipt. When our drinks were delivered, there was no clarification on which was which, and again, they just left without saying anything. To top it off, the espresso shots in the coffee were burnt. The restaurant and the food may look appealing, but that’s where the positives end.
My favorite coffee house in Alaska. I think about it often, even though I've moved far away.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered a coffee. The waitress seemed upset when I mispronounced "frappe." After she corrected me, she prepared our coffee, but it ended up lacking any flavor. It seems like you really need to know the correct pronunciation of their drinks if you want to avoid receiving something that tastes like flavored water. I apologize for saying "frap-pay" instead of the proper way!
