The table was ready when we arrived, but the staff member who greeted us was not very friendly. The food was delicious, but we were charged for two items we didn't order, which we only noticed after we got home. Overall, I feel that this restaurant is overpriced and the service is not worth it. I will not be returning.
We had a table reserved in the outdoor seating area. The table we were given was not appropriate for adults. Our order was taken promptly, but we had to ask multiple times for the heaters to be turned on before it was finally done. We then waited for an hour and minutes for our starter to arrive. We were informed that we had an hour and minutes for our entire meal, but it took even longer for our main course to be served. Throughout our dining experience, we were not approached by any staff members. The food was good, but the service was severely lacking.
I stayed in County Waterford in early June and decided to take a trip to Ardmore. I was fortunate enough to be able to book lunch at The White Horses. I chose the lamb, which was the special of the day, and it was very tasty and of good value with a home-cooked quality. I also enjoyed a delicious dessert, the apple pie. I will definitely be visiting again.
Booked a table for on the of August for myself and other half, arrived at and told to come back in minutes and the table will be ready. Arrived back to end up waiting another minutes on the street before...we were told follow us to be guided into a waiting room where we ordered two drinks and were told a table would only be a few minutes We only received one drink and then waited another to be told at that out table would not be ready until and we could just LEAVE or wait This is also on top of no social distancing of a party of random people put sitting no more then a foot apart in the waiting room next to us. Honestly when you book a table in advance I don't mind waiting but to be told over an hour is shocking and in the manor the women spoke it was very disappointing as the restaurant was highly recommend. This was not a walk off the street but booked in advanced. With no table garanteed even at an hour later we decided to leave and go else where.
Cane here especially for a Sunday lunch after hearing good things about this restaurant. They were very busy and we needed to book a day in advance and even then there was limited space. We had a table outside which is nicely decorated. We were...lucky it didn't rain as there isn't any cover if it does. First thing I noticed was my glass was encrusted with dirt and dust so I asked to change which they did straight away no problem. The menu was much more of a dinner menu not many options for lunch so of us got starters and one of us got a main. Prices wernt on the menu either as it was a set menu of for courses. At none of us wanted a course meal! It took us a very long time to get someone to take our order even though there seemed to be lots of staff but all said they can't take orders?? When a woman eventually came to take our order she was extremely rude, short and didnt seem impressed that some of us were only getting starters. When the food arrived it was all nice enough. Starters; as expected were very small portions especially for more than each! The main of sea bass was nice and came with vegetables and potatoes but nothing to get extra excited about. Then to top it off when we were given our bill it came on an old chipped plate and the price scribbled on a receipt. All in all for the prices on the menu you would expect a much higher standard of service, cleanliness and food. I won't be rushing back.
