Sushi Weng - Waterford

Fancy freshness, fancy wasabi, fancy prices, not so fancy atmosphere. My House Special with shrimp and crab was so insanely good topped with their wasabi that I've come to leave a rave review. The sushi here is amazing, but the hibachi is just mediocre for being so expensive. The sushi is also priced above their mediocre atmosphere, but the quality of the ingredients and the skill of their sushi chef makes up for their premium price. I can't recommend their tempura ice cream though, it was kind of too thick churro over ice cream that I didn't love. And the sauces that came with my hibachi were quite strange, and the bang bang spicy mayo isn't spicy enough. Still overall thrilled with my sushi, it was some of the best I've ever had. I wanted to get some sushi for lunch and found out my normal place was closed, so I decided to give this place a shot. I was extremely satisfied with everything that we at including three sushi rolls (one of which was fried), an assortment of nigiri sushi, and the lobster puff appetizer. I was really impressed with the lobster puff appetizer as it reminded me of crab rangoons from other places, but in my opinion had a much better flavor. I love this place. It's a smaller, locally owned sushi restaurant. There is seating both at a bar(where they mix up some pretty good drinks) a main dining room area. The service I received was prompt, attentive, and efficient. Our server, Miranda, was so sweet and took great care of us. The food was delicious. We got the garlic rice, novi roll, and the california roll. All of them were awesome, but the garlic rice really shined for me. The spicy mayo was homemade and very tasty. Overall I would definitely recommend.

The size of the carry out order if sushi was very small for the amount of money paid. It was much better previously. Food: 3 Service: 3
