There was no recommendation of dishes, but we ordered the family feast which came with 7 dishes for $45! We got to sample 7 dishes at a low price. How's that for value for money. The quality of the food was also good, not watered down to cater to caucasian taste buds. The chinese tea was not free, though, as it is supposed to be in most chinese restaurants.BTW, parking is limited, and made worse by road construction right in front of the restaurant. Took us a while to find a parking lot and the restaurant. But as I said, it was a cold night, so it was still easy by downtown standards.
I was hoping to go to Crystal Palace for their lunch buffet but it was closed. So instead I went to the Dragon Court Restaurant. The menu seemed to have a wide variety for lunch. I ordered a plate with beef, green pepper and onion. When the plate arrived it was beef with broccoli, mushrooms and onion. I didn't want to send the plate back and I like broccoli and mushrooms, so I decided to just stick with what was brought to me. The rice was cold and the beef dish was cold on the outside and not hot until you dug into the middle. It tasted ok but such a shame that it came cold.Portion size was good for the price. And the meal also came with a spring roll and a choice of two soups.May try Dragon Court Restaurant again if Crystal Palace is permanently closed.
Chinese food in recent years are not innovative or anything new ... you know what you get. This place does just that but to with a great emphasis on quality! Great for take-outs! Highly recommend!
I recently went to Dragon a Court for lunch. Very accommodating to make the dish how I wanted....low salt no MSG. Lots of business people there the day I went for lunch. Great value. I'll go back!
This restaurant offers a wide selection of Chinese food. I typically frequent the restaurant at lunch times and find that their luncheon specials are an especially great value. For well under $10 you can have soup and a large portion entrée. Their hot and sour soup is delicious and perfect for cold winter days. Staff will also make adjustments to specific dishes to accommodate. For example, if you would like a particular dish to be a little less spicy as in the case of chicken or beef in dry hot pepper sauce. There are lots of options to choose from so that any pallet can find something suitable. This restaurant is a great value.
