Contribuisci feedbackI have left a pretty terrible review here before so I thought I would come back and update you all on my experience again. I had heard that new management had taken over and it was a lot better now so I decided to try again on a Tuesday night. The menu was new and there was still a wide variety to choose from. I chose the ramen takoyaki special which was about 16 dollars together while my boyfriend got the sushi dinner B. I chose the budae ramen because it looked unique and had all my favorite Korean pieces in it (rice cake, fish tofu, kimchi etc) and while the flavor was great and portion size huge, it was a bit spicy to keep sipping after a while and I ultimately could not finish it. The takoyaki was great and the sushi quality was about average. There was still only one employee working but on a Tuesday night at 8:30pm we were the only two in the restaurant so service was not as terrible. I felt slightly bad at how deserted the place felt but hopefully news will spread of its revival. Mr Sushi's food won't blow you away but there is a large variety of food for anyone to come and grab a decent and relatively quick bite.
Some friends and I had lunch here today. All 3 of us were very unsatisfied. The service was a bit slow but not the worst I've seen. The portions are smaller than before, only three California rolls with no wasabi or ginger option. The chicken was horrible. I used to come to this location all the time and get the same meal that used to always come with a perfectly cooked chicken breast. The last two times I have come it's been very slimy dark meat that isn't edible. I told the server and no one cared. 3 of us paid for a meal we couldn't gag down. I looked online and on the receipt to try and find a contact name to address this with management but I couldn't get through to anyone so I'm leaving it here with pictures. Gross.
After reading some recent positive reviews about Mr.Sushi I decided to give it a try. It seems the new ownership (took over in the fall) is working very hard to change the reputation of a place that had some pretty bad reviews in the past. I was very happy with what I found. The interior is nice and spacious with a good vibe. My party ordered some rolls, and a few Korean entrees. The entrees were all excellent, the dolsot bimbimbap especially. They have a huge selection of rolls and they did not disappoint. The rolls we ordered were well prepared (tightly rolled, with a good balance of ingredients) and quite large. The crunchy roll was a big hit with the kids at the table and the adults enjoyed all the rolls that we ordered, there wasn't one miss. The beef tataki and amazing spider rolls were especially notable. If you are looking for good Korean food or rolls I would recommend giving Mr. Sushi a try, it looks like it is on the upswing.
Went on a Friday night for dinner, restaurant is small but clean. Servers are friendly and they actually speak English and smile! The menu has variety- sushi, ramen, bulgogi, teriyaki and more. I had the bibimbap which was delicious, my husband had the beef bulgogi, also delicious and our son had the ramen with pork. I found the pork in the ramen bland, but the broth and veggies were very good. We also had the sushi rolls with beef tataki which were very good. All of this cost us $68 with a 20% tip. We will definitely be going back.
On a chilly Saturday night this place was packed. Very busy but we still got our food in good time. I ordered the bulgogi which came with rice and a side of miso soup. Everything was good. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are a good size. Their menu is large and diverse, I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes. In summary: Good Japanese and Korean food that is reasonably priced.
