I discovered this place, and it's a bit unfortunate that it's located right in front of the move! As a new vegetarian and even newer vegan, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent variety of vegetarian options they offer. Everything I tried was delicious, and it’s a nice touch that the owner has a military background. The entire staff is incredibly friendly!
This place offers so many authentic Indian and Nepalese foods and many of them are vegan. I had good chitchat with mr. B-hat and he led me to many vegan options. my favorites are vegi samosa, vagi momo (damped dumplings on Nepalese wise). hauptentree: vegan biryani. biryani are cooked with butter, this restaurant welcomes their vegan passions and make it vegan with just scavenging oil. so many different vegan options and if they want, they will cook one for them. one day they made me cauliflower, inherit, carrots vegan curry. the best cauliflower taste I've ever had. defiantly desrves 5 stars, but since it's not completely vegan restaurant, I can't choose here in happy kuh 5 stars. they will never be disappointed here. Food and service are phenomenal. this business is operated in the possession of a us army (combat medic) veteran.
The staff seems to have a misunderstanding of what vegan means. They mistakenly believe that cream is vegan. If you're ordering as a vegan, I recommend informing them of your dietary restrictions and confirming their understanding of the term before placing your order, to ensure that your meal is completely plant-based.
First clue was the Happy Cow sticker on the door. Went with my son/family (with 3 kids), 9 total people. Not on menu/website, but they had Kingfisher beer and wine. Vegetable samosas were among the best I've ever eaten! Had 3 types of Naan (garlic, plain, and spicy/Jalapeño) the spicy was the best. Wife had saag Chana (spinach with chickpeas). I had vegetable curry. Both were excellent. Our 17 year old twins had potato/cheese dumplings. The were integral, so one of them just ate the sauce with rice. Everyone else ate chicken dishes. The vindaloo sauce was just the right amount of heat. Nice restaurant!
