Really sweet staff and Southern Sunday Lunch (from out of town and have only had Sunday lunch but breakfast menu looked lovely). If you are looking for a pretentious brunch spot, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a delicious, casual, affordable, southern cafe that cares about the community this seems to definitely be the place.
The food is a solid, good country breakfast. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just good cooking and large portions. For pretty darned cheap. The staff are some of the friendliest, most helpful people I've ever met, and the service is quick. Cathead biscuits. Creamy grits. Buttery pancakes like you would make in your own skillet. The atmosphere is family friendly, to be sure, and a Wall of Thanks and respect for all of our Armed Forces.Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level with the street, no lip on the side walk, very wheel chair friendly and easy for people with mobility challenges to maneuver.
The food is truly authentic and delicious. Everything is excellent. The service is outstanding and friendly. Make sure to come hungry, as the portion sizes are generous. The coffee is strong and served piping hot.
I stopped by for breakfast and had to wait a bit for my order to be taken, but the woman at the front was really friendly. The food was decent, but nothing particularly special. I was hoping for something different; it reminded me a lot of Strickland's if you're familiar with the area. It's a classic mom-and-pop breakfast place.
