The food was just average, nothing extraordinary. They seemed unable to understand that I wanted them to take the vegetarian burrito and deep fry it to make a chimichanga. As a result, I just received a tortilla with some fried peppers and onions, which was disappointing. I definitely won't be returning. The only thing I really liked were the chips, salsa, and queso. From the moment we walked in and were greeted and seated this place impressed. The decor was stylistic and the leather booths very comfortable and spacious. House made chips and salsa were brought with menus and when we weren't ready to order when our server (Chuy) came back to the table he refilled both with a smile and told us to take our time.We ordered 3 different entrees (Chicken Chimichangas amazing flavor and perfectly prepared, Quesadilla Grande the combo of shrimp, chicken and onions and that creamy salty cheese......spectacular, Enchilada Bandera cheesy and covered in sauces that complimented each filling) and each of us described our dishes as the best and most authentic Mexican food we've ever had. Our meal time conversation concluded with a unanimous decision that our meal was better than food we've eaten south of the border. The Horchata rivaled any we have ever had and the Churros Mexicanos were top notch (crispy outside, chewy inside, cinnamon sugared perfectly and drizzled with chocolate to accent all the flavors).If I could give more than 5 stars I would, as this place has just made the top of my list for Mexican restaurants in the Madison area.Can't wait to return with friends and family to share this amazing place.
