Waurn Ponds Hotel

Visited for a birthday lunch. 2 dishes out of 5 came with hair in it. 1 came cold and we had to follow up 3 times to get the children's dessert. Definitely will ot be back.

Venue for the most part is nice. Food was undercooked. Replacement was overcooked. Tammy is very rude, patronising and condescending, probably best to visit when she is not working. Horrible experience.

Had a good counter meal here after shopping in the area. Has kids play area. Typical counter meal fare done well.

I visited the Waurn Ponds hotel for a meal over the weekend and once again, I was left disappointed. As a local, my family and I dine there a few times a year, and each time we are disappointed. The menu has remained the same for what seems like the last 5 years, if not longer. It's unfortunate that this restaurant is our local choice, but we do not visit frequently due to the lackluster meals. It might be time for a change in the chef or at least a menu revamp. I may have been generous in saying the menu hasn't changed in 5 years – it could be closer to 10 years. Nevertheless, we will give it another try in a year's time and hope to see some improvements.

The roast lamb was tough and of very low quality. The people at the table next to us also agreed. My dad described the Thai chicken curry as boiled chicken in a curry-flavored sauce. We informed three staff members about our dissatisfaction, but received no response from any of them. It seems like they need a new chef. Additionally, the drinks were expensive. Overall, we would not recommend this restaurant.
