Ono Kine Grindz - Wauwatosa

The OK Grindz team catered our wedding and did an INCREDIBLE job. Our goal was to have food that tasted great and give a large selection to all our guests, regardless of dietary needs and preferences--and to not blow our wedding budget on food while doing it. Mission accomplished. We received so many compliments from people who had attended weddings with costly caterers and hotels and said they enjoyed our food more. We're not local and Guy made it so easy to schedule a time that worked for us to come do a tasting, helped us with quantity suggestions and menu suggestions, and connected us with their amazing baker. The quantities were great--just enough to not worry about having enough without having too much leftover. They even let us do homemade desserts alongside the cake and let us provide some ingredients from where my parents live so he could incorporate a taste of home. Their staff was friendly and helped with setup, takedown, and the spread was beautiful. They even worked with our non-traditional venue. Thanks, Ono Kine Grindz!

Ono Kine Grindz is an incredible restaurant that I first discovered in 2010 when it was newly opened. I found it through a food app that recommended Hawaiian cuisine in the area. I was surprised to find local Hawaiian food in Tosa, where I had been living for 5 years for my studies. I visited the restaurant multiple times with friends from 2010 to 2013 before moving back west. After returning to the Milwaukee area in early 2023, I rediscovered my love for Ono Kine Grindz. The owners, David and Guy, were just as friendly and welcoming as before, embodying the Aloha spirit. The food is still amazing, and I have yet to have a bad dish. My favorites include the mac salad, seaweed salad, Kalua pig, and ono fish. The owners also generously donated part of their proceeds to help those in need in Maui, which meant a lot to me and my friends. Thank you for being such a vital part of the community in both Milwaukee and Hawai'i. Mahalo nui loa!

First of all, the food at this restaurant is absolutely amazing! The concept of being able to see how the restaurant operates is really cool. My mom, who was visiting from Tennessee, tried their coffee and also loved it. The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. The store inside the restaurant is also really interesting, offering a variety of seasonings and coffee for purchase. I appreciate that they donate a percentage of their sales to Maui. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this place!

We hired Ono Kine Grindz to cater our wedding and our experience from beginning to end was fantastic. The food tasting at the store was amazing, with helpful and welcoming staff. It was difficult to choose just a few dishes because everything was delicious. On the day of the wedding, the service was excellent. They arrived early to set up, assisted with the buffet, and cleaned up afterwards. Our guests also gave many compliments about the food. We highly recommend them.
