However, when I went to order, I realized I had picked up an old menu. An older woman rudely questioned me about it, but I pointed to the table where all the menus were kept. Despite the initial hiccup, I finally placed my order and paid. The baguettes were surprisingly tasty and came with a few crisps, lettuce leaves (some of which were starting to brown), and tomato slices for presentation. My son enjoyed the cheesy chips, and my daughter's wrap was disappointing and slightly stale. The Mochas were not properly stirred, resulting in all the chocolate settling at the bottom of the cup. Overall, it was not the best lunch experience and I am in no rush to return.
First visit to the café. We didn't get to try the food as it was really busy and no seats available. I was with a buggy and 2 toddlers. When we walked in, no one greeted us, there was massive tables reserved but no one once came up to me to show me to an available table or talk to me. I just gathered the children and left.
Rude owner/manager spoke to her staff in a disgusting way (I’m surprised they still work for her) whilst coughing over everyone’s food and attempting to charge people multiple times when they had already paid. Looks like retirement would be a better option for her in my opinion as the stress has obviously taken its toll. Subsequently charged me for two blocks of ice in a tap water for my three year old and then threw a strop quoting the fact that she has to pay water rates as a reason. Communication is not this persons strong point...unfortunately neither is running a cafe. What an awful experience.
The three of us had lunch here after our grandson had played 9 holes on the par 3 course. We have been here several times before. This is a typical simple cafe building situated at the edge of the golf course. Some outside tables overlooking the golf course. Licensed. Dog friendly. A good range of cafe hot and cold food, drinks, snacks and cakes; all at reasonable prices. We all had paninis which each come with two generous fillings plus some salad and crisps garnish enjoyable. The kitchen is open for all to see. I suspect that the cafe is staffed by volunteers as the ordering and service is somewhat chaotic at times, albeit friendly and helpful they could probably benefit from a second chef at peak times as there can be delays. It was very pleasing to see that in July 2016 this small cafe achieved a FSA Food Hygiene Rating of 5, the maximum probably not so easy to achieve in the rather restricted facilities. Overall a good place to stop if you are using the park.
This restaurant is the perfect spot for a hot drink and a bite to eat after a refreshing stroll in Farnham Park. While the menu may not be gourmet, the food is delicious and the coffee is top-notch. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and they even allow dogs inside, making it a cozy spot during the colder months with the wood burner on. In the summer, you can enjoy your meal on the terrace.
