For example, the restaurant offers two scones and four sandwiches that are made for the day, and that is what you will be served. This unique concept helps to prevent food waste. Fortunately, the items served were ones that I would have chosen myself, so it worked out well for me. I had selected the high tea option, which included caramel and cherry scones, assorted savories (such as chicken salad sandwich, cucumber cream cheese sandwich, lemon basil cheese bread, and a Brie jam tart), and dessert bites. Everything was tasty, with the chicken salad sandwich being a standout. The peach cobbler dessert was also delicious. I took the advice of other reviewers and avoided the quiche, as it was not well-received by others. The server was friendly and attentive, and I did not feel rushed at any point during my meal. The only downside was the size of the savory dishes, which were quite small (only about two bites each). I was expecting a larger portion, but it was only a quarter of a sandwich. Additionally, there is a 4% credit card charge, so it may be preferable to bring cash for payment.
I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly. I opted for the light tea, which came with two warm scones - a white chocolate cranberry and a caramel one, both served with clotted cream and lemon curd. They were absolutely delicious. The tea selections were also excellent; I had the vanilla raspberry and my friend chose the Feng shui, both of which were delightful. The light tea also came with a pot of tea of your choice, which was enough for several cups. Unfortunately, the quiche was not very good – it was rubbery, bland, and cold. I appreciated choosing the feta pear salad over the tomato basil soup, which my friends found to be grainy and overly acidic. The highlight of the experience was definitely the tea and scones, while the savory options were lacking. Despite this, I would still return for the enjoyable atmosphere.
I visit High Societea twice a month and always have a fantastic experience. Whether I'm enjoying scones and sandwiches with my friend or relaxing with a book and a cup of tea, the food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the changing seasonal decor adds to the charm of the place. It's difficult to find a great tea room outside of NYC, so I am grateful for this lovely spot.
We started my sister's bachelorette day here on Saturday. We were a group of 15 for Queen's Tea. Service was flawless and the place is adorable. Only thing is if you are vegan or have other dietary restrictions the options are extremely limited. If not, go and enjoy all the yummy treats they have to offer.
It was such a cute and quaint place! I loved having my birthday dinner here with my partner and the tea was amazing. Only issue was that my soup was cold immediately (as if it weren’t reheated all the way) and the sandwiches weren’t all that great but everything else was enjoyable. I just think they should improve the savories selection.
