Delicious cakes, friendly customer service, and a clean, welcoming shop.

What struck me even more was that she didn't mention the survey on the receipt that included a promotion for a free cake, which I only learned about because I overheard her explaining it to a Caucasian gentleman in the store. When I later picked up the cake and inquired about storage instructions, another staff member looked down at me over her glasses and, with a demeanor reminiscent of a strict school principal, told me to refrigerate it and take it out an hour before serving. It all felt rather odd. I’m giving it two stars in the hope that perhaps I really am the weird one. The cake was a gift, so I hope the recipients enjoyed it.

I was at this plaza visiting another store when I decided to stroll across the parking lot and sample their cakes. The staff member who assisted me was extremely friendly and offered some great flavor recommendations. I ended up ordering the white chocolate raspberry and the carrot cake, both of which were delicious. I’m looking forward to trying the lemon cake on my next visit!

The order was a struggle from the beginning. Maybe I should have stopped then. While ordering on the phone I had to correct the salesperson three times, that I did not want my order on Saturday, but on Friday. I also stressed that I was taking it directly to my event. After the third time I corrected her, her tone changed and she became irritated and short with me. When I arrived, on time, to pick up my cake, I had to wait, while they found it? No one else was in the store so I have no idea what was happening. Finally, when I had served the cake and I tried it, it was ice cold and tough, as though it had been frozen. It was supposedly chocolate-chocolate chip, but it was bland and not terribly flavorful. I wrongly assumed that the cake would be fresh. A Sara Lee frozen desert would have been just as good and way cheaper. Way too much money for such a yucky experience. I'll never go back.
