I ordered the brisket plate, which came with coleslaw and potato salad, and I added a side of ribs. Let's start with the meats: the brisket was tender and flavorful. They offered BBQ sauce, but I felt it wasn't necessary. The ribs had a great taste and were finished with a nice BBQ sauce. I personally enjoy a bit of caramelization on my ribs, and while they were meaty, I prefer mine to be cooked a little longer. I understand that in a restaurant setting, it can be challenging to serve ribs that are just right because you don't know when they will be served. That said, I like Redd's approach better than ribs that completely fall off the bone. The flavors were still excellent. The potato salad was outstanding—it's a classic yellow mustard potato salad, moist and not dry like some versions can be. However, the coleslaw left something to be desired; it lacked flavor, and I prefer a little more zing in my coleslaw. It wasn't bad by any means, just a bit bland. I received the BBQ sauce but didn't use it on the meats. It's a dark orange sauce that reminds me of Heinz 57—it has a nice tangy flavor, though it's not spicy. Since they are just starting out, I anticipate they will only improve as they gain more experience. I definitely recommend stopping by to give Redd a try. I look forward to returning to sample the pulled pork and chicken.
This was our 1st time here. And WOW! We ordered 2 Ribeyes...they were the BEST steaks that we have ever eaten! Also 1st time I have eaten rice and hash...it was amazing! Very friendly environment...feels like your walking into family's! Even met Chef Redd! Everyone was wonderful. Please try them out. Highly recommend.
Come by and get some down-home Georgia barbecue. Ribs chicken brisket and pulled pork along with all the good fixins! This is the real deal. Redd knows a thing or three about how to make tender and flavorful meat, He has been smoking only the best since the age of 13Food: 5/5
