Dai Ichi has been part lf celebrations and I’ve shared a lot of memories with family and friends here. It has always been a pleasant experience and the staff has been kind and good friends throughout the years, I love coming here for their sushi and strongly recommend you try this place out if you at all enjoy sushi or Japanese food! Their kam pungi is also amazing!
Went here for dinner with family and was lucky to get a table before it got busy. Making a reservation is a must I guess? We ordered grilled mackerel, takoyaki, fried soft shell crab, pork bone soup, sushi combo set (30 pieces), and Dai ichi dinner with bulgogi. The grilled mackerel was flavourful but I'd definitely recommend putting the lemon provided for added freshness. The pork bone soup was delicious! Better than Owl of Minerva and Song Cook's pork bone soup which was a pleasant surprise as these restaurants are fully Korean food focused in comparison to Dai Ichi which is a combination of Japanese and Korean. The soft shell crab was flaky and delicious. Though my sister found the plating to be a bit morbid, lol. The biggest disappointment for us was the sushi set. We didn't really know what it had but wanted to try it nonetheless. It had too much tuna which our party didn't really like due to our preferences. Maybe making the features clearer on the menu would help in terms of ordering and less food waste?
The only place I go for my sushi in Mississauga. Consistently fresh and tasty. The cuts of sashimi are the proper fish and not tilapia unlike some sushi locales. Their charashi sushi meal has perfectly seasoned rice and is plentiful with their variety of fish
Still a great place BUT....they no longer have the Pork Bone soup we would come here for. Officially off the menu and that hurts my heart and stomach. So very much. We eould come here at least once every two weeks which will sadly become less and less as we search for a new spot that has that pork bone soup favorite.
This is one of the most authentic sushii places in Ontario. Skip the 'more than you should have eaten ' places and go here instead. The service is outstanding and the chefs are world class. i suggest the Sashimi and Sushi boats be shared with some friends over a bottle of warm sake. Don 't be shy, let them know what you like and trust the staff to help you order if you aren 't familiar, everything is delightful.
