Gaststatte Dorfkrug - Wedderstedt

We saw this place on the way to our day trip to Quedlinburg. It was the day after Christmas (which is the 2nd day of Christmas for Germans). We thought we would find a place to have lunch in the medieval town of Quedlinburg no luck, reservations only. So, after trying to find a decent place to eat in Quedlinburg, we decided to head back to where we were staying (Magdeburg). We, then, decided to stop at this place to see if they were open and to see if they would fit us in. Lucky for us, they had a table in the corner that could accommodate the 5 of us. Only half of the bar/restaurant was open it is Christmas after all. So, they were a little light on staff being Christmas, but they hustled the whole time. Even with a large group coming in and the regular visitors, the service was good except at the end when I tried to get the check (but, most people would want to stay and digest their food I suppose we had a schedule). Most of us had some sort of schnitzel with a side (either Kroketten, Spaetzle or vegetable). We were not very hungry but wanted to get a traditional German meal. The food was so good, we gorged ourselves. We were uncomfortably full at the end of our meal. The Schnitzel was fresh made, delicious breading, tender and moist. The kids (age late teens/early 20's) LOVED the sides especially the Kroketten. The gravy over the schnitzel and spaetzle was hardy and delicious. Five people with full meals, bottled water, beers, and tip $80EUR. I would DEFINITELY eat here again if in the area.

Very good cuisine, unfortunately some restrictions on the selection on the day of our visit (fish and unfortunately also no peasant breakfast)... Nevertheless, the remaining offer was very good and delicious. Service: Dine in Meal Type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmospheric: 4
