Newk's Family Diner - Weidman

Walked in and the setting was warm and comfortable. The food was delicious and the prices were also good. The staff was really friendly, and attentive. Definitely planning on visiting often.

Breakfast is standard and solid. Usually go in on weekend mornings before the post-church crowd arrives, so service is pretty quick. I often my 1.5 year old daughter with me and staff always treats her great. There is a breakfast buffet, but it doesn't start until 10am or something like that. Recently, we went in on a Friday night with friends. The place was PACKED, so we expected a somewhat delayed speed of service, but from time of being seated until food hit the table was over an hour. Not good. I'd ordered all you can eat fish. Halfway through first serving, I ordered another basket. Took more than 20 minutes for it to come out. Fish was great, speed was sloooow. Hoping it was just an off night or that someone called in and left them I'll prepared. Will try again sometime to see. Overall, decent little diner near the lake to fill your stomach nearby instead of driving into nearby towns.

The cod was deep fried with not too much breading. Fries were excellent. Service was very timely.

The menu is excellent and diverse, offering a wide range of options. The servers are friendly and welcoming. The decor is intriguing and adds to the ambiance. It's a great place for families and conveniently located near many local lakes.

The building is not well-maintained, and it is up for sale.
