My son and I stopped in here on a busy Saturday night in Weimar. We inadvertently visited Weimar during a holiday weekend and all of our original choices were packed to the gills with long wait times. But on our way back to the hotel,...after giving up, we encountered the welcoming and delicious Franz Willi burger joint, and we 're so glad we did! The burgers were delicious! The atmosphere, while just a few steps above a fast-food-like in the dining areas, turned out to be perfect for us that evening. We sat on tall bar stools along a tall counter that lined windows to the outside, and from there, we had a great time people watching and talking while devouring amazingly fresh and tasty burgers. (The ambiance is more appealing, and actually interesting, behind the counter where the food 's finishing touches are prepared before your eyes. We placed our order at the counter where we were assisted by a very friendly and helpful cashier. I got the chicken burger with fries (2 small, fresh, locally sourced chicken breasts with fresh fixings on a soft, yummy bun and my son got a big, juicy burger with bacon and cheese and I can 't remember what else with fries. We both marveled at the freshness and deliciousness of our sandwiches! They were definitely some of the best burgers we 've ever had. The fries were super tasty, too, and came with our choice of dipping sauce. I got the ketchup, which, like the other ingredients, was somehow exceptionally fresh-tasting (is it homemade? , and my son got the curry mayo dipping sauce, which he loved. Our meals came with a bottled drink from the refrigerator next to the cashier. It held a tantalizing variety of bottled iced teas, beers, and (I think off-brand sodas. We each chose a flavored iced tea. As I recall, they were organic with no funky additives, but I may be remembering wrong. The food was definitely worth the visit. The atmosphere in the dining area was average, but we enjoyed the people watching. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. Our only negative comment is that we arrived and ordered-in _before_ three other people (not together arrived and ordered takeout, and yet, the gentleman who was putting the finishing touches on the food prepared all of the takeout orders ahead of ours. And once ours was prepared, it just sat there in the window, for maybe 5-8 minutes before the guy noticed us looking at it and handed it over the counter to us. This is something we 're not used to. In the places we frequent, orders are generally handled first-come, first-served, but not here. Nevertheless, we would definitely recommend this place for wholesome, delicious burgers served with only the best meats and veggies, which are locally sourced when able. Enjoy!
This place is a wonderful option if you enjoy a good hamburger! As soon as you come in you feel a nice atmosphere, the service is really friendly and you can choose between different kinds of hamburgers and also between three different sizes: S (140...g), M (200 g) and L (280 g) that's really perfect. We ordered one small cheese burger with menu, which includes fries and a soda, we took the sweet fries with curry and korean sauces, my boyfriend had a medium BBQ burger. The burgers were just perfect. They buy the meat by local farmers, as well as the vegetables and the bread comes from a local bakery, where they bake these special burger breads for them. The menu size is perfectly fine, the fries portion is perfectly fine for two. If you happen to be in Weimar and you like eating a burger, this is your place!
Very good chilly cheese fries! And even better burgers! Clean atmosphere, could be a bit more cosy. Will definitely recommend.
While walking on Wiemar streets and searching somewhere to eat, saw this place randomly. Never checked its reputation or anything. Because just wanted to eat sth and continue tour on Wiemar. However it was delicious, juicy burgers, amazing fries and hand made ketchup and mayo. It is very above expectations. Little comments on soft drinks, they are a bit expensive. Such as Fritz was 3.5, most of similar business sell around 2-2.5. But tasty burger definetely deserve its price. If visit Wiemar once again, I know where to eat. Highly recommanded.
