Costa Coffee - Wellingborough

We were the only customers at Costa in Wellingborough, near Swansgate, a few days ago when we visited on a Saturday in July. The male barista was unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome. He informed us that we couldn't use our loyalty card due to restrictions and suggested we download the app. We found the advertising for the app to be unclear. I also mentioned that there was a competing coffee shop, Bewiched, nearby that was open without any issues. We had a much better experience at a Costa in Peterborough this week, where the barista was very friendly and used gloves and a tablet to activate our card. They made us feel welcome, seated us, and even gave us an extra cup of water when we asked for it.

I had a very tough croissant that was disgusting. Unfortunately, the staff did not seem to care about my dissatisfaction. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Meeting place for the less fortunate in the town. This does make you feel nervous in going to the cafe. better Costa inside the market.

Called in here on Sunday for a quick coffee with the grandchildren. The store is clean, bright and cheerful. The staff are clearly under pressure as it is a very busy store that appears to be under staffed. Unlike some Costa stores extras' do not...seem to be pushed, we were not asked if we wanted and extra shot or a bottle of water. The cakes and sandwiches are well displayed and looked tempting. Unlike other reviewers here I would say it is one of the better of its type and trying hard to improve even further. Under new management maybe?
