Mandarin Garden - Wellingborough

As my favourite Chinese has had a recent visit from the health inspectors I had to try somewhere else. This place I really should have avoided. When placing my order you can actually see into the kitchen and the amount of dirty woks and dishes around was unbelievable. Flies were everywhere! I will never order from here again, and I would recommend you to do the same. Made my Mother ill!

We needed to find an alternative as our usual is temporary closed. Rang one Chinese and they said ready to collect in 5-10 mins, glad we passed on that one as that sounded far too speedy for me. We ordered special fried/rice/chow mein/chop suey, sweet and sour prawn balls and chips. Everything was hot tasted fresh. The rice and chow mein although special contained mainly chicken. The chip suey tasted far too sweet for me like a sweet and sour sauce although not to my taste that’s not the foods fault. We ordered prawn crackers but they sent some free ones too along with 8 little spring rolls which were very tasty. I’m glad we went with this place as an alternative. Easy to order online, paid cash on delivery and was delivered within 30 mins. Will order again for sure.

I 'm fed up with my usual establishment so thought I would try a different one. The 'scores on the door ' [environmental health] gave this place a maximum 5 rating which was up to date. This is a take away not a sit down restaurant. (see previous comment) The food was hot, generous portions and flavoursome. I had duck in pineapple- the chunky pieces of pineapple were tasty. I had salt and pepper squid and the batter was crispy (not soggy like my old place) I received free prawn crackers and spring rolls too. I would definatley use this place again.

Tried for 30mins from 5pm (when they open) to book a table couldn’t get through. Not because it was engaged, it rang and answerphone picked up saying no one available. When eventually got through was told no tables until late ..... fair enough but when I said it was too late the gentleman at the end of the phone responded rudely and slammed the phone down.
