The other two restaurants on our list are closed. Strange. So we went back to El Agave....where customer service is friendly, food is good with generous portions and the ambience is festive. We had simple dishes tonight, but thought very much about other previous dishes. Hubby had a Taco/Tostado-Dinner combo and I had the Tortilla soup. My was a huge bowl of delicious broth with all the goodies on the ground: chicken, cheese, onion so. Not excessively salty. The combo dinner looked like so much food on the side of beans. Both were exactly what we wanted. Of course, chips and salsa are always a must. We love the cabbage pico de gallo and the spicy salsa. You are both addicted...hence the getting full . For dinner, our mere $20 tab was the best, but it's almost impossible to get a great meal for just $20. Of course we give 20%! DANKS El Agave for a beautiful curtain with delicious scarf. So appreciated!
The best in the West. We sat immediately and our smiling server Beto was fast to bring our delicious Cadillac Margaritas. He did not hasten to place our orders from their colourfully illustrated menus; and our tasteful dinners were served without delay. The favorite Colorado Burrito of my husband was not disappointed, and my Chipotle Chicken was just the right combination of sweet and spicy. All in all, a very good culinary experience thanks to Yelp reviews. Next time we're in town.
Ate Every Bit of It.... I research an experience. I wanted to try another place on the street, but my teenage sons and I were glued to March Madness on TV, so we called in one order. The place was right opposite the hotel. They said it was ready in 15 minutes (and they were packed). Sure, we went there in 15 minutes and it sat there, waited for us, hot and ready. And we ordered Entrees to take a little effort. The food ordered to go from Mex joint and be ready when expected is a first for me. That's credit. And after a few cocktails and good basketball on the tube, I can assure you that there was no rice grain on my plate. The food was good, and they gave us a lot, but their speed will be what I remember in the future...
We came to almost closing time w were well treated w/good food service. The Tamale were so good, so was the salsa!
