Backerei Konditorei Vincenz - Wengen

I was so excited to find this bakery, it is located on the main street, so easy to find. I think I had something from there everyday. Fresh bread and croissants. Savory pastry- just wished there was a cheese flaky pastry. Cookies and quiche- all...fresh and absolutely delicious. Went in one afternoon to get bread for the next day- there was limited selection( late afternoon), the one I choose was a day old , so I got it for half price. Many sandwiches to ick up for your hiking needs.

So, let's start with the food. The sandwiches were great. Also, the pastries and chocolates very good. But, I'm guessing when you are the only bakery in town, your staff don't have to worry about customer service. I was afraid to come in a 2nd...time, because we were treated so rudely the first time. And I live in New York. I'm used to bad customer service. But alas, the 2nd and 3rd time (because, hey, this is the only bakery in town) the service was once again terrible. It's like she couldn't believe she had to serve you. As a long-time Trip Advisor reviewer, this is the first time I have been critical about a business. I take this role seriously.

We bought a slice of quiche and a brownie for a late lunch after traveling. Both good. We bought a loaf of bread and they sliced it for us which we combined with some cheese and a pate from the Coop grocery for a light lunch several days. My favorite was a sweet treat called Mendelssohn Kugeln. It was a cookie with a chocolate filling covered with a marzipan layer then covered in chocolate, so good. Chocolate candies were good too. Prices reasonable.

Every day my partner and I would get our breakfast from Backerei Konditorei Vincenz en route to the mountains to have a ski and every day the breakfast that we had was excellent!The bread options were amazing and the cakes and pastries were really something else - even the coffee was pretty damn good!Worth a visit if you are in need of a snack
