We had a really lovely stay here. The rooms are beautiful very modern , bright and spacious. It's also has a lovely cosy and welcoming vibe we were really impressed. Only flag is it's quite loud both the external high street and inside noises like other rooms doors opening and closing, thin walls , footsteps etc. They do give each room ear plugs which is thoughtful. We were only there for one night , which was a Saturday, so may be fine during the week.
Very well restored bedroom. Wonderful crew working the services, great prices, and a wonderful stay. Largest king sized bed in UK, and comfortable too. Really hot water , and under great pressure too. Wish we could have stayed longer.
I have been a regular at Newbury’s best kept secret for many, many years and it keeps getting better. Not at all easy for a town centre establishment in these challenging times. Beer is well kept, prices are reasonable and service is reliably friendly and efficient and the ambiance is wonderful. I would like to take the time to make a special shout out to one of the venue’s long time managers Harry (Eggleton) whose warm, friendly and attentive service makes us regulars feel like VIP’s. In short… a consummate professional. In summary, a great town centre watering hole, hotel and social hub with first rate “front of staff staff”.
While the servers were great we had to sent out chicken starters back as they were uncooked!, I ordered a medium rare fillet steak which was cooked very rare! The server took both starters and the steak meal off of the bill. Still waiting to see if we come down with food poisoning.
