Jerseys Pub Grub - West Cedar Rapids

We decided to patronize this place on Thursday 4/18/24. It was advertised in our hotel 's Places to Eat section as we were from out of town. When we entered, I was wondering why there were only about 10 people dining in at 7:00 pm on a Thursday night. I would soon find out. We were seated immediately and the table we were at was sticky on the surface and the napkin dispenser had dust on top of it. We ordered beverages from the waitress who also then cleaned our table after we asked her. The place looked unkempt and definitely needed a good overall cleaning job. I went to use the bathroom and it was filthy. There was urine on the floor around the urinals and due to the strong smell, it had been there for some time. That should have been our immediate hint to leave. We ordered burgers and the waitress said we could only have them prepared medium-well done. When our burgers came, they were dry as a bone with no moisture in the patty. I ordered a Mushroom/Swiss burger which usually has good juices included. My wife ordered Smokey Burger which was also very dry and flavorless. I told the waitress and she apologized and brought out pickles as a remedy to get them edible. I finally stopped eating the burger and told her it was not good. I never, ever leave food on my plate. The fries were OK, but nothing to brag about. She took our plates and again apologized. I paid the bill and also tipped her 20% as she was very pleasant, smiling, had a good sense of humor and was trying to rectify the situation. I figured there was a problem with the cook. As we were leaving, I told the waitress to suggest to her manager to either change their brand of meat or preparation of their burgers. Immediately, the manager who was working as the bartender, became defensive, raised her voice and blamed me for how the burger was cooked. I likened it to a hockey puck which caused the manager to overreact as she continued to raise her voice and blame me. I remained calm and told her we would never be back again, which caused her to go on a long rant. As we were leaving, she loudly stated that the 3 people at the bar were loyal customers and loved the place. I suggested to them that they also try another place as the food we were served was totally unacceptable. The manager continued to blame me as I heard her yelling through the front doors as we left. Don 't know when I 'll ever be in Cedar Rapids again, but for sure, we will NEVER go back to Jersey 's Pub and Grub again.

Everything was wonderful. The waitress was awesome. The food was excellent, didn't have to wait. The whole experience was outstanding and we will be back again. Parking: Jerseys out on C Street had plenty of good parking. Very accessible. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. I've been in there before in the afternoon and the pm people having their kids with no incedents.

Always super fast service and super big portions. I just got a salad and it’s always delicious for a cheap price !!

Hosting DeSantis and his hate speech? I’ll never be back.

Went here for trivia night which was fun. The service was good but the food was disappointing. The Cuban sandwich I got had very little mustard, no cheese and the pickles were on the side. For $13 it's not worth it. I'd go back for trivia and drinks but not food.
