Maxie's Lounge - West Des Moines

Lunch here with church family. Our waitress Lindsey was amazing. She not only had our party of 18, she had to other parties of ten. She didn't miss a beat or dish. And had a smile and charm as she worked. Food was very good and everyone enjoyed what theyordered. This group loles to get dessert and Maxie's came through on this too. Restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. Ido what to giving a shout out to the kitchen. They were on top of their game too. With having three group to cook for ...as wellas small groups. Maxie Burger was really good! Fries and onion rings come with the burger as well! Good service!

Went on a Friday at 6 for dinner and cocktails. Cocktail server in the bar area wasn't very friendly. Order food and ate it int he bar area. Food was very good and quickly served. However, the establishment closes at 8 and they seemed to want to rush youout as closing time nears. Place was also mostly empty for a Friday evening.

First time here. The food was delicious! It reminded us of a 1980's restaurant bar. Service was great.

Stumbled across Maxie 's about 7pm on a Tuesday evening...they close at 8pm. The dining room had a party of 20, the bar/lounge only had 2 other couples eating and was very homey and relaxing. Our waitress gave us a heads up that the large party would beordering and asked if we wanted our order in before theirs...yes, please! We ordered the Chicken Parm sandwich and Steak. (HotBeef with mashed potatoes was the original ask but they were out ..however our waitress said she 'd highly recommend orderingthat next time we come back as it 's very good and a hearty portion! All sandwiches come with their famous Onion Rings . I 'mnot generally a fan of onion strings they tend to be too salty for me but these were not, I was pleasantly surprised. The frieswere crispy and shoestring thickness. My chicken Parm sandwich (with house made sauce was amazing....it was the juiciestchicken I have had from a restaurant in a while. The house made red sauce was great, even my boyfriend agreed...next time wereturn we are definitely ordering pasta (and hot beef with mashed potatoes ! The steak was cooked medium rare as requested andhad a very nice flavoring. Overall a great pick, check them out!
