West E Diner - West Elizabeth

We were searching for a nice spot for breakfast and stumbled upon this charming little restaurant. Although it took some time for our food to arrive, the wait was definitely worth it. I can't wait to return whenever I can—absolutely delicious!

The food was excellent, but unfortunately, our experience was marred by our waitress. After taking our order and bringing our drinks, she never returned to check on us. Instead, it seemed she prioritized a table of 13, leaving us without any coffee or water refills and no follow-up to see how we were enjoying our meals. We felt completely overlooked, as she wouldn’t even glance our way. In contrast, another waitress, who I didn’t catch the name of but mentioned having five kids, was incredibly friendly. She was engaging with customers and noticed we needed assistance when our waitress wasn’t around. She truly made a positive impact on our experience.

If I could give negative stars, I certainly would. I've never experienced a restaurant where the hygiene of the staff was a concern. The food was unappetizing. The female cook came out, walked past us, and smelled of cigarettes and last night's bar. It was utterly disgusting. We couldn't bring ourselves to eat our breakfast after seeing and smelling the cook. We are truly appalled and will never return. While I understand that standards may be low in West Elizabeth, this experience was entirely unacceptable and offensive.

We went to the West E Diner this morning for breakfast by chance (checked the map to see what places were nearby), and decided to give the Diner a try. The meal was SO delicious, the prices were great, the service was amazing and the place was immaculate! Literally one of the best meals I?ve had in a long time. The West E Diner is now part of our South Hills visit tradition!

So glad we stopped, such a cute place, and the service was awesome. We will be going back!!
