Since its inception in 1926, this steakhouse has evolved from a modest beginning (it didn’t originally serve steaks) into a beloved national dining destination. In its early days, the owners lacked funds for décor. Interestingly, the original restaurant was located near the King Features building, renowned as a major distributor of comics and editorial cartoons. Back then, cartoonists would pay for their meals by creating original portraits of celebrities on the restaurant's walls. This creative barter system not only adorned the spartan space but also helped the artists showcase their work. Over time, this led to a rich collection of caricatures that now embellish the walls of all The Palm locations. Celebrating its 85th anniversary in 2011, The Palm has much to be proud of. With decades of success and a strong reputation for prioritizing customer satisfaction, this restaurant is undoubtedly a classic with enduring appeal. Named after one of the original owners, Pio Bozzi, the Bozzi Burger ($16.90) perfectly embodies everything crunchy, crispy, beefy, and mouthwatering about The Palm’s steak burgers. It features aged Gouda, BBQ sauce with a smoky twist, and delicious fried onion strings, making it a colossal delight that will satisfy any curiosity you have about these enormous burgers. Accompanied by lettuce, tomato, and onion, the Bozzi Burger is served with a side of zesty BBQ sauce, adding a welcome flavor contrast to the salty fried onions, juicy Prime beef, and smoky cheese. We also recommend trying the Second Avenue Burger ($16.90), named after the street in New York City where the original Palm is located. This burger boasts Danish blue cheese and expertly smoked bacon, enhancing the savory flavors of the beef. The toasted sesame brioche buns add a nice touch. **ESTABLISHMENT DECOR:** The interior is adorned with colorful caricatures, evoking a traditional steakhouse feel with polished brass details, leather booths, and well-maintained wood accents. **FOOD & DRINK:** Incredible steak burgers, a delectable wine selection, and generous portion sizes. **LOCATION:** The Palm we visited is situated at 9001 Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA 90069. **HOURS:** Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
