Lovely night out with my vegan bestie at this humble little hut. Started with satay skewer--the stealer of the show, crispy fillet surprisingly zesty with the vinegar dip, pineapple rice added with Malaysian Curry Laksa. Raw coconut Chai cheesecake was also a great touch with the lightness of its sweetness. Everything was wonderful to the tee!
If Vegan food tastes like this, I have no problems in turning vegan. An utterly delicious surprise in the name of food. Pick any dish and you'll not be disappointed. I have tried about 7 dishes and cant really pick the best. But if I absolutely have to I would recommend the crispy fillets. One of my best finds in Melboure for sure.
Ordered:<br/ Popcorn Nuggets (special)<br/ Spring Rolls<br/ Hainanese Chicken Rice <br/ Indo Mee Goreng (special)<br/ Malaysian Milk Tea<br/ <br/ Started with the popcorn nuggets and spring rolls. Nuggets came with a creamy tartare/mayo sauce. Nuggets were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. <br/ Spring rolls had a crunchy flakey skin. Slightly bland but dipped in sweet chilli sauce gave it a nice kick.<br/ <br/ Hainanese Chicken Rice. Rice was moist with a surprising ginger aroma which was quite enjoyable. The mock chicken meat had a crispy skin and the “meat” was soft and easily tore apart. Paired really well with the rice.<br/ <br/ Indo Mee Goreng. Good ratio of vegetables, noodles and sauce. Sauce was salty and spicy (enjoyable) but could have had a slight sweetness to it. Overall, nice and simple dish. <br/ <br/ Malaysian Milk Tea. On the stronger side. Still enjoyable. <br/ <br/
One of my favourites! <br/ <br/ A much needed vegan restaurant in the vic market area, service is awesome and the food is consistently good! Food is Chinese style, best done sharing in a large group
