Cardenas Markets Cocina - West Modesto

This is the first time Ive ordered from Cardenas and it will be a go to for the next craving. carnitas were amazing, soup was amazing, chips were amazing.

We upgraded the carnitas to 1.5lbs, paying $9 extra. Our dasher communicated they were out so we opted to sub Pollo. We received 3 leg quarters and half a breast, all on the bone. The pictures show diced meat in a bowl. Some of the chicken was very good, some very dry, and definitely not 1.5lbs of meat. No one likes the beans. I thought itd be like a taquiza with cilantro and limes etc also, but no. Not sure if well try this again.

The Taquiza family platter is absolutely delicious! It's always fresh and offers plenty of food for a family of four. The quality of the dishes is consistently excellent.

The food was just average. I ordered the Birria/Barbacoa Family Pack, but the sides didn't taste great and were only enough for one person. The salsa was also served in a small condiment container—definitely only enough for one. I gave it 2 stars because the meat and desserts were good, but the photo of the Birria/Barbacoa Family Pack is misleading. The meat was the only item that could reasonably feed 2-3 people.

I ordered the carnitas meal, and it was fantastic! The rice was fluffy and packed with flavor, while the beans were cooked to perfection. The meat had a nice crunch on the outside but was tender and juicy on the inside. There were plenty of soft tortillas to enjoy with the meal. Overall, it was a great dining experience!
