Island Jack's Patio Grill

Great food excellent value friendly service. Went for the early bird special. $9.99 gets you a choice of a cold beer, glass of wine or well drink, soup or salad and choice of entree with one side. Entrees are Grilled Chicken or Tilapia, Fish Chips, Chicken Florentine, Chopped Beed Steak or 1 2 Rack Baby Back Ribs. <br <br I ordered a cold unsweetened iced tea then opted for the soup Delicious New England style clam chowder. Really flavourful and satisfying. For my entree I chose the baby back ribs with backed potato. The generous 1 2 rack portion of ribs were perfect. Fall off the bone tender, not swimming in sauce (Waiter kindly brought me more) and not fatty. The baked potato was a good size and cooked perfectly with plenty of butter and sour cream on the side. Most restaurant never give you enough butter for your potato so this really appreciated. <br <br Our waiter was knowledgeable of the specials and soups of the day,funny and there when we needed him. Excellent service!<br <br Although I have lived down the street from Island Jacks for many years this was my first visit. It definitely will not be my last,

I had their grilled grouper sandwich key west style (lemon pepper) which was actually pretty decent. I also tried some of their fried shrimp which were quite large and tasted well. Their fries were really good. Sat on their patio and the place was kinda dead around lunch on a Saturday. Looks like they had some sort of poker tournament being played inside. Update: During the second visit I tried their 'super hot fried chicken wings ', they were okay not the best I ever had. Their 'super hot ' sauce isn 't that hot. The outdoor bar area is pretty close to Okeechobee Blvd so there is a lot of road noise at times, occasionally they will have live music which is nice. Never been inside and always sit on their patio or at the outdoor bar. The theme song on their website gets stuck in my head, sometimes I go back to their web page just to play it because it is kinda catchy (sorry easily amused).

Portions are HUGE. Beer is cold. I had the Fish Chips which were good. It was Trivia though the Trivia DJ was entertaining, his mic had technical difficulties.. The bartender Dave introduced himself to everybody who sat down at the bar. It's a fun outdoor/indoor bar grill.

I had the cable sandwich. It was terrible.. Bland Not to crash and the service was slow.. I won't come back.

Nice drinks with great appetizers. Loved the atmosphere! Good mood!
