I had a disappointing experience with More Open Table. It's frustrating to arrive with a party of eight only to find the restaurant closed—not just for the night, but permanently.
30 minutes drive to a place that is no longer in business, thanks to open table!
This is a new place in West Palm right by the waterfront and close to the theater and all the going on downtown. There is parking right next door so very convenient. It is new so I guess their systems are not quite right as the service especially for cocktails was really slow. Inexpensive menu but expensive drinks my dinner was less that the cocktail I ordered. My group of 6 loved the pretzel appetizer with a cheese dip yummy and big enough to share all around. My soup and 1/2 sandwich was generous really a whole sandwich (I took 1/2 home) Several of the group ordered the Chicken Pot Pie which arrived with a Puff pastry topping impressive. The rest of the items were also pub fare burgers and such. All tasty and of good size. They just need to get the bar and kitchen organized so we'll give it a few months and try it again.
Met my brother and sister-in-law from Boca Raton at Rails in West Palm Beach which is half way between us. Rails was a bit more casual than I realized; turned out that it was fine. Steve and I had the crab cakes and they were delicious. My sister-in-law had fried chicken/waffle and she said it was good; also had the French onion soup and like it. My husband had the chicken pot pie and said it was the best he ever had and he is an expert judge! Turned out to be a good find.
