I thought the food was extremely tasty tender, exactly to my liking. Wide variety of choices. The ambience of the atmosphere is exactly what a couple looking to go out to a really nice dinner would expect. Piano bar is a real nice touch for a drink before dinner. The staff treats you the way you want to be treated.
We were a party of three seated promptly but the good news ends there. Although the dining room was a little more than half full at 8:10pm, we waited 15 minutes before a drink order was taken; waited 10 more minutes before drinks came to the table; waited an additional 25 minutes for appetizers to arrive and entrees finally at 9:40pm. Unacceptable. The reasons given were the waiter's first day back from school and there was a banquet party upstairs. If you want to do catering and a la carte there should be a formula to service both adequately so that neither suffers. Given the prices charged which are comparable to other fine Steakhouses, the entire package was not delivered.
I really wanted to love it here, but no matter how much I tried no big deal for me. The place is beautifully done, the service was wonderful...the food? The food was...good. That 's it, good, not fabulous (which it should have been for 75 dollars per person). I had the steakhouse salad, which was quite good, my husband had the rib appetizer, which was also very good, but that is all. My husband’s steak was sent back and still not right, but he was too hungry to wait by then. My Mahi-Mahi was ;ok ; Lobster Bisque was so-so (a little heavy handed on the nutmeg). No matter what a so-so restaurant can usually win me over with dessert...Strawberry Shortcake...sadly...just adequate, nothing special...matter of fact that is what the whole dinner was...nothing special. Next anniversary we are headed back to Collins Main where we know everything is great.
