However, I gave this place a three-star rating because the portions were very small and the prices were expensive. I am not naive when it comes to dining out and I understand that good food and service can come at a cost, but I still felt slightly disappointed.
We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. It was a special occasion for us, and we were not disappointed. Due to the current pandemic situation, we ordered takeout. We enjoyed dishes such as duck confit, watermelon feta salad, scallop toast, bistro steak, and halibut, and everything was delicious. I have recommended this hidden gem to many people, as the food is outstanding. Even though it was convenient to pick up our order, we look forward to dining in person at the restaurant in the future.
When we're at home in the Berkshires, we tend to dine out 5 nights a week. We've been to many of the area's top restaurants, such as Alta, Cafe Lucia, Bistro Zinc, and Brava, among others. Lenox is a hub for dining, and we've been asked numerous times what we consider the best restaurant in the area. Surprisingly, the best in our opinion is not even in Lenox, but in West Stockbridge. The restaurant's name is Rouge, and it is run by Maggie, the owner, and Oliver, the chef. They do an incredible job with both the food and service. If someone truly appreciates good dining, they will definitely want to visit this restaurant.
When we are in the Berkshires at our second home, we tend to dine out 5 nights per week. We have been to all of the better restaurants, numerous times, including Alta, Cafe Lucia, Bistro Zinc, Brava, etc. Lenox is restaurant central . I have been asked a number of times what I thought was the best one. Interestingly, the best by far isn't even in Lenox. It's in W. Stockbridge, and its name is Rouge. Maggie, the owner, and Oliver the chef do an incredible job, in both food and service. If you know really good food when you taste it, you definitely will want to go to this restaurant.
We had a fine dinner at the Rouge. The menu wasn't extensive a dozen small plates and three full entrees but everything we got was interesting and excellent. Wine prices were IMO high. We asked for outdoor seating which was comfortable, but *very* mosquito-y. I'd happily come back any time I could eat indoors.
