The Alaska roll was just as tasty, with black sesame seeds sprinkled on top. The assorted tempura was crispy and satisfying, with 2 prawns and 4 pieces of vegetables. The dipping sauce added a salty kick that made it even more delicious. The chicken kaarage was crunchy and flavorful, although I wish there was more of it. The mayo and teriyaki-like sauce, topped with sesame seeds, made it a bite-sized delight. Unfortunately, the ramen was a bit disappointing. The broth lacked depth and the saltiness was overpowering. Overall, I would definitely order from here again, except for the ramen. The menu has a great selection, but my recommendation would be to try the kaarage chicken.
Like many Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, Daikichi is also operated by Chinese owners, as I heard the staff speaking Mandarin that day. Despite its size, the menu offers a wide variety of options, with over ten sushi combos to choose from at a reasonable price. The restaurant primarily focuses on takeout and delivery services, and customers can conveniently order online through the Just Eat delivery service linked on their website. While there are some online reviews that critique the sashimi quality, I did not try any raw fish dishes that day, so I cannot confirm. However, I was very satisfied and impressed with the dishes I did try! Miso Soup $1.00 (3.5/5) Kerrisdale Roll $8.50 (4.5/5) (Prawn tempura, cucumber, topped with avocado, tobiko, yin yang sauce) House Salad $3.25 (3.5/5) Chicken Teriyaki Don $6.95 (4/5) California Roll with Real Crab $4.95 (4/5)
This small sushi place offers good prices and above average food. With only a few tables, we were impressed by the variety on the menu. We tried the Prawn Tempura (6 prawns), Toro Combo (BC Roll, Toro Nigiri Sushi), and Beef Teriyaki Bento Box. The second and third dishes came with Miso Soup. Everything was okay, but it would have been nicer if the soup had been hotter. The rice in the Bento Box was nice and hot, and the beef was well-marinated. The tempura dish was crispy and not oily, while the Toro combo was just okay. Overall, considering the really inexpensive price, we definitely got what we paid for. The service was good and attentive, as our tea was refilled without us needing to ask. I would recommend this place and will definitely go back to try more items on the menu.
I've been eating sushi at daikichi sushi for about 6 years now. I go there mainly when I have sushi cravings and whenever I'm too lazy to go anywhere far.(i usually do take out The things i usually order are combo b; tuna ,salmon, and california roll; and maki combo; tuna, salmon, and kappa. Both of the combos also come with miso soup. I really enjoy eating their rolls mainly because they aren't too big like other sushi places. The price is very reasonable and very friendly chef. I can't say too much about the rest of the staff because they usually change. It is a great place for a quick and cheap munch. (The only thing i would advise is dont order the ikura nigiri because when i did it tasted weird :
Superb!. Fantastic food, service and value.Always a pleasure to eat here. Try the specials. Lunch can be hectic so go a bit early or late if you can.
