The chowder was excellent; piping hot, creamy and plenty of fresh clams and nice small pieces of potato. Then things went down hill. We ordered a chicken wrap and some wings. Waited about 20+ minutes for the food to come out (it was an off time and not busy with diners . When the food arrived…big surprise…it was cool (soggy fries . It had clearly been sitting, waiting to be served. We didn’t have time to send it back and wait for a redo, but we mentioned it to our server when asked how everything was. She offered to have food warmed up but we told her we didn’t have time. We were polite but pretty clear that we were very disappointed. We held out some thought that some slight offer of compensation might be forthcoming (how about taking our two diet sodas $6 off the bill…?? Nothing. So…I guess the only recourse is to share our disappointment publicly. We should have read reviews before we elected to visit. What a shame…
Food is disappointing it took 1 hour to be served prises are high for what they serve I hope they improve because it's a beautiful place I will try it again in a later time
Terrible experience. The setting is gorgeous and the dining room beautifully appointed. The gluten-free options my friend had (Caprese salad and veal dinner) were well-prepared and tasty. The wine selection was great. That was the best of it. The Caesar salads were so drenched with dressing we could not eat them. My beautiful piece of cod over spinach and fingerling potatoes was sitting in a large puddle of salt broth which completely overpowered the dish. I could not tase anything but salt. My friend's pasta with shrimp was cold, as was the extra sauce he requested. My husband's chicken was so overdone it was tough as leather. Our server, Julie, was pleasant and seemed well-informed when she answered our questions, but her service was very slow. It look a very long time for our wine to be served and even longer for the food to come out. Julie disappeared without explanation and an able young man took over. He gave us two complimentary desserts because our friend reported that his pasta was unacceptably cold. However, that compensation did little to make the evening any better. It was a hugely expensive meal when the only thing we all enjoyed was the wine.
Beautiful scenic atmosphere, delicious food, and rocking entertainment by Crazy Ants Band.
