Shinto Japanese Steakhouse And Sushi -westlake

The food is consistently amazing every time I visit, but last night the service was exceptional. Chef DJ went above and beyond to entertain us, making the experience incredibly fun for my family and me. I felt compelled to leave a comment because of how great it was. If I could, I would always request him as our chef!

The cook really needs to pay attention when a customer orders their steak medium rare; it shouldn't come out raw. The sweet and spicy filet mignon (GF) for $30 could have been a great dish if it had been cooked properly. I ended up bringing it home to finish cooking, and I had to make rice to go with it. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

This restaurant tends to overbook, which results in the kitchen staff rushing to prepare the meals. The chef didn’t even season our dishes properly, and we had to mention it. The place itself is beautiful, but it definitely needs some improvements.

Had dinner at the bar. Not a unusually busy evening at the bar, dining room was full as usual. Disappointed at the bar service. Bar staff dressed inappropriately, the entire night they “ stocked the bar”, glassware, and were on their cell phones. Did not check on us when the food was delivered to see if we needed anything. Had to wait for them to make eye contact to ask for the additional items we needed to eat.Love the atmosphere, and it is our go to place for sushi, but not when you are watching them stock the bar the entire time.It would be a much more fun experience if they were engaged in actually “ serving “ the customers. Hope it improves.

First time being there, and I thought the service was excellent and the food was amazing. I love hibachi and man. I felt this place was above the rest!!!! Great for friends to meet up and enjoy a good dinner.
