There is an incredible variety of pastries and stuffed buns available, including options like taro buns, pork char siu buns, and BBQ pork buns. I often buy a lot to take back home to San Diego. The staff is friendly, and you can always smell the delicious aroma from the food they are preparing. While the interior may look a bit worn, that’s usually a sign of great food! I highly recommend giving them a try! They accept both cash and cards.
Every time I come to the Asian Garden mall, I can't resist stopping by here. I have been coming here as a child. Everything is very reasonably priced here, most pastries ranging from $2.45. If you buy any 5 pastries you get 1 free. My total came out to 11.50 for 6 pastries! I got cheese hot dog (always a must), jalapeño ham and cheese bun, custard bun, pork bun and mini garlic hot dog buns. It is not your 85 degree bakery, it is an older bakery that is been here for a long long time. Not sure if it's cash only (I paid with cash) cause it seems like they may not take card.
The woman working there was very rude. When I tried to hand her my tray, she gestured to the side of the counter where she wanted me to put it, forcing me to lift the tarp to set it down. I then attempted to order a milk tea—one of the many items advertised with handwritten signs all over the shop—but she abruptly told me they didn’t have it. I ended up just purchasing some coconut bread and a pandan pastry instead. While I was paying, my 3-year-old daughter picked up an egg tart and asked for it. The woman behind the counter completely overreacted, as if my daughter holding the pastry was a huge issue. I took it from her and put it back on the tray, but to my shock, the lady actually picked it up and squished it! I couldn't believe it—these pastries were just sitting out, wrapped up! Overall, I doubt I’ll be returning. The selection was limited, the pastries were just okay, and with such poor service and uncomfortable conditions, it’s surprising they’re still in business.
This restaurant offers a diverse selection of fresh breads, including both sweet and savory options. They even serve macaroons and ice cream macaroons! My favorite item to order here is the new coffee breads!
Love all their coconut breads! Also note during Covid times the mall doesn't open till 11 am.
