Cute place with some good products but the worst Onegiri experience I ever had (rice ball wrapped with seaweed). It was very dry, hard rice, not fresh at all. I don 't think it was Japanese rice either. We took those back, they didn 't offer refund or any excuses. The only response they said was: Put them in the microwave . Yeah right, we don 't have a microwave. Onegiri is very often used as fast food to be eaten on the road or on a trip, like a sandwich. Suppose to be made fresh everyday, like the Japanese do. And yes, there re other place that sells Onigiri in Montreal, like in Westmount, more west at the Korea-Japanese market and also places like LeFalco for the traditional and beautiful Onigiri. So yes there is room for improvement and please, next time, understand your clients when they honestly mention something wrong with the food, it was honest of us. Best to you and maybe another time we will try again. As a bonus for the ones who read this till the end. They have a Japanese white organic miso in the fridge and its delicious.
A well stocked purveyor of Japanese groceries. Very good fresh sushi and salads prepared in-house daily, except for Sunday.
I received great service. That have a wide variety of products offers.
They knowingly sell expired products unapologetically. While not technically illegal, very poor business practice. I wouldn 't trust any type of perishable food products they might sell including their fresh sushi. Definitely check the dates on anything you buy thoroughly or better yet, just avoid the store altogether.
