Very busy pub that serves food, pleasant staff, As this is a pub the table space is very limited and cramped.we were on table 4 tight for space and not comfortable. The food we had was not great. Chicken dish laced with raw garlic, ruining the taste of the dish. The steak pie had burned pastry top and some of the meat was very dark colour from overheating. The peas were lukewarm. The trio of desserts were ok as long as you like chocolate and if you are going to serve them on the same platter then dont pour the sauce on as they are all tasting of one thing only. Spoke to the young lady serving us about our concerns and got a smile and that was it. Staying local and will not be back.
I had some time to kill, fending off boredom I headed the the Wheatsheaf. What a wonderful pub! Friendly locals and excellent staff. I came in myself and the locals regulars were quick to accept me into their company and chat away. Next time I’m in the village I’ll happily pop back in! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This is very much a village PUB rather than a restaurant. Not a place to go if you want a quiet meal. But a great place if you want to socialise. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
