Contribuisci feedbackI walked in on Valentine's evening and was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem of a restaurant located in the Richmoor Hotel. The table setting was beautiful and the hosts were friendly. The menu was delightful, with the beef and pork belly dishes being particularly outstanding. The dishes were well-seasoned and simply melted in our mouths. The dessert of Bakewell with custard was a unique and delicious treat. Although we didn't try the starters, we were impressed with the quality of the mains and felt they were reasonably priced. It was a nice touch to see the chef greeting diners, something that is lacking in other places. I wish this restaurant was closer to where I live, as it would definitely become a regular spot for us. Overall, our experience was sublime.
During our stay at the hotel next door, we decided to give this restaurant a try. We also had the benefit of a 20% off voucher from the reception. The food was outstanding, but the portion sizes were huge, so make sure to come with a big appetite. Our waiter was fantastic, despite being very busy, he was attentive and friendly to all the customers.
We ordered two steaks - one cooked very well done, one cooked well done, and one cooked okay. The steak that was supposed to be rare came out medium rare, so we sent it back. However, when it came back, it was still cooked medium rare and the trimmings were dried up. Overall, it was not worth the money. They need a new chef because rare steak is not an option here. I would not recommend this restaurant as even giving it 1 star is too generous.
You wont be disappointed, very satisfying, good and welcoming place to eat . Lovely staff. Always have great deals too.
We went in for the steak offer. It was beautifully cooked and well presented, as was the restaurant and staff. Sadly the service lets it down. Friendly and helful staff but intermittent in their attendance. Even though the two steaks and a bottle of wine for £29.95 seems to be advertised daily, we were still charged for a bottke if wine and overcharged for both sides that we ordered. It was rectified and apologies made, it took them some considerable time to work out their errors. Some staff training and removing unsavoury guests and smokers from the entrance steps, together with a few flower pots would attract more guests to enjoy the creations if a very good chef.
