Gibbo's On The Wharf - Whakatane

Thought I check this place out, glad I did service and staff were excellent, fast and friendly. As for food we had wedges which was delicious. To say that they're busy, was a understatement customers rocking up all the time. Hats off to the cook Amber and her work colleague, who didn't miss a beat or order

This restaurant is a beautiful spot on the waterfront with a view of Whale Island. The sea breeze is lovely and the portions of food are very generous. There is a nice variety of drinks available. The restaurant and outdoor seating area are clean and tidy. The staff are professional and friendly, and helped us find the best deal for our needs. Our visit to Whakatane was made even more enjoyable before heading back home to Te Puke.

We did a takeaway order for 4 people for lunch. Chips were great and the batter on the fish was light and crispy and tasted great

Great value, friendly service and really good fish! Didn't like those squid rings though but thats just my personal taste. Anyways, would go back for classy fish and chips!

Fish wow! Moving to Australia from the UK 5 years ago, I can say this is the best fish I have had since I left. Unfortunately it's too far to come often. The place doesn't look much but it doesn't matter. Must try.
