Six Forty Six - Whangamata

Quite a few vegan options on the menu. We only had smoothies, fries (best I've had in a long time) and a snickers slice. Will come back!

We stayed in Whangamata for 4 days and came here every day. The coffee is awesome and they offer a range of plant milks. They have a good range of hot and cold drinks (chai/flavoured lattes, teas, ice coffee etc). Tonight we visited for dinner around 6pm they continued their lunch menu plus some extras for dinner. We had the jackfruit tacos from the dinner menu and they were DELICIOUS. They are licensed so you can have beer or wine with your dinner. They also offer breakfast and lunch options to dine in or takeaway. Also super friendly team and relaxing environment. Updated from previous review on 2022 01 02

The team noticed our vegan shirts so came over and let us know what menu items they could do vegan from the menu besides the Mexican Salad Bowl and the cabinet items (tacos, dumplings... considering there are not many vegan friendly places around here I would recommend this as an option.

Tonight, we came for dinner at 6 PM, and they updated their lunch menu with some additional dinner options. We tried the Jackfruit tacos from the dinner menu, and they were absolutely delicious. The staff noticed our interest in vegan options and kindly informed us about which items on the menu could be made vegan, in addition to the Mexican salad and the items from the display (tacos and dumplings). Considering there aren't many vegan-friendly places around here, I would recommend this restaurant as a great option.
