Now the not so good....the food was just awful. Ordered five meals from the BBQ, all different and all ended up being thrown away as they were so bad. they were just dried-up meat covered in store bought BBQ sauce...lots of it!
We arrived on July 6th, a Saturday night, about 5:45pm. We expected a wait since it was Saturday night. After waiting a few minutes to even be acknowledged at the hostess station, we put in our name, requesting seating for 2 persons. We waited outside and people’s names were being called to go in. Soon we noticed that there were only 2 couples left..us and one other. It seems they seated more than 14 people farther down their list and had crossed off our name much earlier. Time: the finally seated us at 6:45. The waitress took our drink order almost immediately and we placed our dinner orders by 6:50. At 7:15 our waitress told the folks at the table next to us that the kitchen had run out of smash burgers. These folks had been waiting for nearly 45 minutes. They chose to leave. At 7:25 we called our waitress over and asked for an estimate of how much longer we would have to wait for our orders. She checked with the kitchen and our orders were still back in the queue and had not been started yet. While we waited for the 45 minutes in the restaurant, there were several waitresses and ice cream counter workers who were dancing, telling stores to eachother, laughing and having a lot of fun. Meanwhile, no food came out the door from the kitchen. We left much hungrier than when we arrived. Total time spent waiting? 1 hour and 45 minutes. Drinks received? 2 soft drinks. Food received? Nothing. We came to try the barbecue. All we got was frustration.
I love to support small non chain businesses however I will not support this one. Went for a buffet and was greeted by a grumpy overwhelmed older gentleman. Was taken to the table and he asked what we would like to drink and since I had never been in this establishment and was not given any hint as to what was available I got water. The woman at the omelet station was pleasant and very good at what she was doing as far as she goes 5 stars all the way! While seated eating, a waitress never once came to the table. I tried getting the attention of a waitress so I could get and pay my bill but to no avail. So we went to the ice cream counter to ask one of the several waitresses if we could have our bill the one waitress brought the bill and asked if we would like drinks to go. Seriously? Please don’t bother find any other place!
Good restaurant on top the mountain off 40. Nice portion sizes. Keep an eye out for their vendor/yard sales days as well
I have eaten there before and it was mediocre. There were a lot of cars, which makes you think it will be great, so we went in. We stood and waited eleven minutes to be greeted by a very grouchy elderly man. The guy waiting behind me in line said, he 's always like that. I ordered the buffet and everyone else ordered breakfast items eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns. It was fifty five minutes before the meals were brought out. Not one thing was cooked properly. One person 's hash browns were super, and I mean super greasy. Another had these extremely crispy hash browns that couldn 't be eaten at all. The various eggs were all terrible. The one next to me could have picked his up and threw it at someone; I don 't even know what that was supposed to be! One person ordered eggs benedict and received hard boiled eggs. My buffet omlet was good, and that was it. The biscuits were hard, the hash browns were burned. I was sitting there trying to eat my food with cold leftovers long before anyone else was fed. We felt bad for the waitress and tipped her well anyway. We will never attempt to eat there again. I don 't know why there are so many cars.
